Zeus parted ways with T1 Zeus and was replaced by a new top laner

Zeus parted ways with T1 Zeus and was replaced by a new top laner ... Korean top laner Choi “Zeus” Woo-je has departed the esports team T1.

T1 congratulated him for his contributions and wished him luck in his future endeavors in an announcement posted on X (previously Twitter).

He has not signed with a new team as of this writing, and his departure marks the beginning of his free agency era.

Zeus, the strong top laner, leaves T1, and Doran, a former Griffin member, replaces him.

Choi “Doran” Hyeon-joon, a former top laner of Hanwha Life Esports, has joined the team to replace Zeus.

Having previously played for renowned teams like DRX, KT Rolster, Gen.G, and Griffin, Doran brings a wealth of knowledge to T1.

Notably, he was instrumental in both Gen.G’s victory against T1 in the LCK Summer Playoff 2023 and Hanwha Life Esports’ victory over Gen.G in the LCK Summer Playoffs 2024.

T1 is urging fans to back Doran as he assumes the difficult role of Zeus’ replacement and seeks to carry on the team’s winning heritage.

Zeus joins T1 as a professional League of Legends player in 2019, beginning with the team’s LCK Academy roster. He was promoted to the main roster a year later and made a huge impact.

Zeus won several awards while at T1, including two World Championships and two straight LCK Top of the Year championships (2022 and 2023).

He was chosen as the Finals MVP for Worlds 2023. He also helped Team Korea win gold at the 2022 Asian Games.

Given the collapse of the wildly popular ZOFGK T1 LoL squad, his resignation represents the end of an era for T1.

The League of Legends scene was dominated by this T1 LoL squad, which featured Zeus, Mun “Oner” Hyeon-jun, Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok, Lee “Gumayusi” Min-hyeong, and Ryu “Keria” Min-seok.

They won the LCK Spring Playoffs in 2022 and went on to win back-to-back World Championships in 2023 and 2024. The 2024 Esports World Cup was also won by them. Zeus parted ways with T1 Zeus and was replaced by a new top laner
